food songs?
Help a procrastinater? Next weekend two of my dance friends are getting married and I've been asked to provide music (in the form of a couple of mixed CDs not active DJing) for during dinner. They want every song to mention food or eating, though it doesn't need to be in the title. Drinking songs don't count. I've got a few picked out already, but am running out of time to go through my whole collection. Any ideas?
Ain't nobody here but us Chickens
Onion
Banana Split for my Baby
Everybody Eats when they come to my House
Cherry
Shoofly Pie and Apple Pan Dowdy
A Chicken ain't nothing but a Bird

Big Butter and Egg Man
I'm Putting all my Eggs in one Basket
Popsicle Toes
All that Meat and No Potatoes
Frim Fram Sauce
Saturday Night Fish Fry
That Chick's too Young to Fry
ok - that's some for you; Louis Jordan must have been hungry a lot

I agree with Brenda that "Popsicle Toes" will be totally appropriate,
especially since it is a love song and the venue is a wedding.
And if you do want to go more risque, there are food songs on Risque Rhythms.

Great suggestions so far. Here are a few that haven't been mentioned yet (take from a food-related mix I made a while back):
Cole Slaw - Jesse Stone
I Like Pie I Like Cake - The Four Clefs
Lemon Squeezing Daddy - The Sultans
Solid Potato Salad - Ella Mae Morse
Pork Chops And Mustard Greens - Ernie Andrews
You're My Dish - Fat's Waller
If I have some time later, I'll dig through my books for some more suggestions.

Actually I think the Spinach Song is about drugs. Weed in particular.Nate Dogg wrote:Of course, this song (and others that have been mentioned in this thread) fits into a subcategory, food songs that are really about sex.wheresmygravy wrote: The Spinach Song - Julia Lee Very Cute for a wedding.....
Funny how many of the food songs are not really about food at all.

Yard work sucks. I would much rather dj.
