How come no one likes it?
-Jeremy
It's easy to sit there and say you'd like to have more money. And I guess that's what I like about it. It's easy. Just sitting there, rocking back and forth, wanting that money.

Who said no one liked it? I didn't get that super secret memo.

The popular version is by Jimmie Lunceford and is found on the great compilation
Frankie Manning's Really Swingin' Big Band Favorites (as well as on many Lunceford compilations). I highly recommend this compilation for anyone who doesn't have most of these tracks already.

That is a great version
As a change of pace though I really enjoy Fletcher Henderson's rendition as well.

I almost always use the Frankie one. I mean, it's probably my most treasured CD and the one I most want to share with other people.

I don't think the song ever was overplayed in Austin. Lawrence, you must be thinking about your Chicago days.
Funny how some songs are overplayed in some cities and not others.

since falty is making an appearance in Seattle this weekend I think I'll play it for him - maybe I'll get to learn what the inside joke is?
edit: oops! I don't actually have a copy of that in my book, oh well, I guess I'll leave it up to falty to play it for us.

I said nothing about it being overplayed or where or when it has been played or overplayed. I just wrote...
