I was thinking about this this morning: Who would be your ideal line-up for an international All-Star band of women jazz musicians?
I would like to see:
Bria Skonberg (CAN)- Trumpet
Shaye Cohn (USA) - Trumpet
Aurora Nealand (USA) - Reeds
Gunhild Carling (SWE) - Trombone (and whatever the else she feels like playing)
Heather Stewart (AUS) - Fiddle
Lozz Benson (AUS) - Drums
Lisa Otey (USA) - Piano
Mary Halvorsen (USA) - Guitar
Brandi Disterheft (CAN) - Bass
A New International Sweethearts of Rhythm
Moderators: Mr Awesomer, JesseMiner, CafeSavoy

I'm ashamed to say I don't know enough names to add to the list, but I'd request:
Cécile McLorin Salvant - Vocals

Re: A New International Sweethearts of Rhythm
Some of the people in your list are good musicians, but they wouldn't be my pick for dance music (e.g., Brandi Disterheft or Lisa Otey). But I *would* like to dance to:
Katie Cavera -- bass, banjo, guitar (she's also playing trumpet now, though I haven't heard her do that yet)
Stephanie Trick -- piano
Doreen Ketchens -- clarinet
And Gunhild, Aurora, and Shaye, whom you've already mentioned.
Trivia: Shaye is Al Cohn's granddaughter. (I learned this from Al Cohn's wikipedia page at some point, so, you know, IT MAY BE A LIE.)
