Jonathan Stout Orchestra at Camp Hollywood

#1 Post by djstarr » Sat Aug 04, 2007 2:24 pm

Just wanted to give a shout out to everyone about how AWESOME Jonathan's band was last weekend. That's the best night of dancing I've had in a long time; every dance was enjoyable, even at a variety of tempos, to me that is a mark of a solid swinging band.

They also played a lot of [I think newer arrangements for them?] Artie Shaw material that I really enjoyed, including Man from Mars and Bedford drive. And Drum Boogie was cool.

So if you guys get a chance to hear them don't pass it up!

The main draw for me to Camp Hollywood was Jonathan's Orch as well as the Campus 5 v Feetwarmers show (which I also heard was amazing.) Unfortunately the hassles of the event location and the weird people who attend kept me away, hee hee.
