My theme song is Watch the Birdie
ha ha ha
Actually, I guess my favorite song at the time would be my theme song...especially one that other dj's don't play very much. It tends to change though, so I am not sure if that is actually a theme song, or just my current favorite song that I dj a lot. I never thought much about it.

The song that definetely remains closest to my hear and really, to me, defines why I like to dance is Fltecher Henderson's "Sugarfoot Stomp." I've fot a few versions of it but the version I really like is the one off the "Tidal Wave" cd. That's the song that Henderson's band would often strike into at 2 in the morning when they started their set at the Savoy ballroom after already playing for hours at the Roseland. The dancers would hear them tear into it and go nuts. Now that's afterhours!
I dig the Billie Holiday version, I might play that tomorrow depending on how folks feel - I'm dj'ing the 2 - 3 a.m. slot at Joel's (aka Soma-Guy) dance which is part of the Vancouver mini-exchange this weekend.Moonmist wrote:For a while I identified alot w/ Love me and Leave me so I got alot of versions of that song. Nowadays I'm just searching for something good.

Oh I really like it, but I just can't listen to that line without blushing; maybe others have a cleaner mind than I do [obviously] so I'll have to give it a try sometime.mousethief wrote:Yeah, that's the one. It carries the room and it's also got some heavy meaning for me and my girlfriend. Even so, I wouldn't play it if I did not think it would carry the room.
