D&E is one of my absolute favorite songs: great flow, great change in pace, great solos. That song alone makes "We Get Requests" a great buy no matter what. For most of the rest of the album, you need to be in a somewhat "quiet" mood for it to click.Shorty Dave wrote:Great cd! I still remember when D&E was played at the after hours at ALX in 2002 (Lawrence was that you?) It was the *perfect* song at the perfect time. I also like These Days of Wine and Roses.mousethief wrote:I'm not crazy about "We Get Requests" but I'll give it another listen.

On the occasions that I find myself wanting to play "D&E," I choose the Modern Jazz Quartet version off of this record: http://www.fye.com/catalog/musicProduct ... d=10126044Lawrence wrote: D&E is one of my absolute favorite songs: great flow, great change in pace, great solos. That said, I haven't found myself reaching for that song in a while...
