"Clap Hands Here Comes Charlie" by Chick Webb
"Shanghai Shuffle" by Fletcher Henderson
"Shake It And Break It" by Sidney Bechet
"Diga Diga Doo" by Artie Shaw
"Jumpin' At The Woodside" by Count Basie
"Main Stem" by Duke Ellington
"Well Git It" by Tommy Dorsey
Of course, it depends on what your definition of "Fast" is, and what versions of the songs you play.

It's easy to sit there and say you'd like to have more money. And I guess that's what I like about it. It's easy. Just sitting there, rocking back and forth, wanting that money.

This thread is worth reading: Actual (not armchair) HJDF battle - there are some great fast songs listed throughout the thread.

"Jumpin' at the Woodside" - Count Basie
"Panassie Stomp" - Count Basie - The Best of Early Basie
"Bumble Bee Stomp" - Benny Goodman - Benny Goodman
"Hi Ya Sophia" - Benny Goodman - Benny Goodman
"Cotton Tail" - Duke Ellington - Duke Ellington Presents...

Panassie Stomp is definately one of my fav fast songs. I heard a song this last weekend at showdown a couple times and it's so familiar but I just can't put my finger on it. The Seattle team did a demo to it (they also did it at camp hollywood) and I think I heard it in the liberation prelims. Anybody?
which can be found on Wicked SwingTravis wrote:The song we used for the routine at Showdown and CH was 7th Avenue Express by Count Basie.
I was listening to this last weekend for the first time and I'm like "oh, that's the RCRC competition song".
And this album has a bunch of fast songs (guess that's why it's called wicked..... )
This reminds me of that thread about bridging between newer and older music. I like to use Jivin' With Jarvis off of Wicked Swing. It's fairly slow, grooves pretty well, and can be used to bridge between modern stuff and older lo-fi recordings.djstarr wrote: which can be found on Wicked Swing

The version I have of 7th Avenue Express that they used can be found of the Complete Count Basie on RCA/Victor. And yes, it is one of my favorite fast tunes.djstarr wrote:which can be found on Wicked SwingTravis wrote:The song we used for the routine at Showdown and CH was 7th Avenue Express by Count Basie.
