Looking for good Gypsy Swing suggestions

I have recently gotten requests for more gypsy swing but the people requesting aren't giving any suggestions. There are two, sort of local, bands but they don't have CDs.

Anybody have some suggestions?

What J-h:n said. Django is the beginning and the end.
This is a nice place to start (good liner notes, etc):

I also quite like the Hot Club Quartette, but almost entirely because their album art is so good:

actually, can anyone remember a little, short animated film that was made in the last couple of years and features a girl dancer in a club, in a similar style to TOB?)

Oscar Alemán didn't play gypsy swing per se, since he wasn't a gypsy - he was fram Argentine - but he was a brilliant swing guitarist in a style similar to Django's. They met in Paris but never recorded together. When Duke Ellington heard Alemán he asked him to join his orchestra. I'm surprised that he's not better known.

Great album. I play that version of "In the Mood" quite a bit.

"Blue Moon," from this, is one of my favorite Django tracks. I once played it at a dance when a guy proposed to his girlfriend in front of everybody. Must not have been the worst choice in the world, because she said 'Yes.'

Also, I looooooove Oscar Alemán's music. I prefer it even to Django's.

Check out the "Hot Club of San Francisco" (aka Le Jazz Hot), the "Hot Club of Detroit", "Twin Cities Hot Club", and "Peal Django" for some modern gypsy bands.

I certainly love dancing to my future hubby & the Twin Cities Hot Club. That said, I get to hear all the latest & greatest gypsy jazz/swing bands & artists that inspire him. Here are a few recommendations. Initially, I've heard this material through walls, and after Robert leaves his practice room I'll sneak in and check out who the artist was.

Recently asked a stupid question and was directed here. In the course of my personal searching, I found CDBaby, and they actually have a subgenre of Gypsy Jazz. There's some digging involved, and not all of it is useful for us as DJs, but I did find a few gems in there.
