Acoustically recorded 20s Jazz on CD - Good sounders?

#1 Post by Eyeball » Tue Mar 24, 2009 12:03 pm

Has any label done a fantastic job remastering the acoustic recordings by various Jazz masters of the 1920s?

The King Olivers.

The Mortons.

The ODJBs.

The Goldkettes.

The Whitemans.

I'd really like to hear clear copies of the Oliver and Morton sides done before 1925 when most record companies switched over to electric recording.

Thx!

How about the Oliver Gennets with Armstrong and the Oliver Dixie Syncopators on Vocalion.
