Minnie's in the Money
Hey all, I just saw the movie "The Gang's All Here" and it has a song by Goodman called "Minnie's in the Money. " I've looked everywhere for it... any ideas??
Thanks!

A recording of "Minnie's In The Money" by Benny Goodman is found on the compilation Lindy Hop Jamboree Jumpin' Volume 6. It sounds live, and I assume it was pulled from a movie, but there no liner notes sadly (major downside of this series!) to find the source of the recording. Might be the version you are looking for. Not sure where you can find it for sale these days though.

What he said. It sounds like it was just pulled from the movie with dancing sounds and all.JesseMiner wrote:A recording of "Minnie's In The Money" by Benny Goodman is found on the compilation Lindy Hop Jamboree Jumpin' Volume 6. I have that old Swing Treasury LP 103. It has the most fabulous version of STEALIN' APPLES that I have ever herd, but the LP is the worst pressing I have ever heard. I have cardboard records that are smoother than that one.
Goodman is on fire and Krupa is back in the band. Chrous after chorus by BG.
Broadcast, "Ice Terrace Room", Hotel New Yorker, New York, October 21, 1943
Did that broadast ever make it out on to CD? Meaning has anyone issued that LP on CD w/o a direct dub; from master tapes perhaps?
Thanks.

Minnie
Does anyone have the capability of ripping it from the movie? I would so love to play this song at a dance! It's one of the rare examples of Benny singing!!
