Songs for the end of the night?
Hey guys! Long time lurker....
We have started a tradition in Baltimore, that we end the dance with a "goodbye" song. It started with "Hit the Road Jack" -Ray Charles. But I would like to expand our options. Can anyone think of others?
It doesn't have to be swingin' perse, really anything with a "Don't go away mad, just go away" message. It is a bar, so we can be a bit more raunchy too.
I heard rumors that there was a great one played at the end of a late night at Pittstop, but I had wussed out already. Anyone know what it was?
Thanks for you help!

"Goodnight My Love" would be a little nicer............
Go to this link, and there is a clip of the song towards the end of the song list.

Haydn it is for a Dorry and Sommer night....Mondays, but depending on the DJ, it has crossed over to some other venues as well!
Lipi, can you advise on an album? I can't find it.
Paul, thanks for the shameless self-promotion.....I actually have the CD, but never thought of it....I will try to get it into rotation, but along with the other BMJB songs I play, they may not want to stop dancing!
Keep 'em coming folks! Thanks!

Re: Songs for the end of the night?
I used to play Dion's "After the Dance". It's a horribly cheezy song, but it's so peppy, silly, and happy, that it was a good note to leave on.Lauren wrote:Hey guys! Long time lurker....

Eventually I gave it up, because after a while it gets old.

chrono classics, 1949-1950 -- sadly no sound samples at amazon.Lipi, can you advise on an album? I can't find it.
i have it on the mosaic "complete capitol recordings of the nat king cole trio", but that's a bit overkill if you're looking for just this song. great set, though.
