Thank you, Laura! I'm really glad to learn that Keep Punching is PD, especially since I released my CD today and haven't paid for the rights to that song. I really appreciate your help!

Found the Song by Accident
Total luck. I had just recently bought Solomon's "Big Apple Contest" song on iTunes and had the previous day imported a Slim Gaillard CD I received as a gift. I was just listening to the songs I'd recently imported in order and right after I finished listening to Solomon's rendition, I thought: "Oh, here's another version of the Big Apple Contest!" Then I thought, "Wait, Solomon's CD only had one version!" I went to my computer and looked and there it was. The song in Keep Punchin' is "Santa Monica Jump". The version I listened to was by "Slim Gaillard And His Orchestra", though there's different instrumentation in Keep Punchin'. Wow, I can't believe I solved this. Please confirm or deny. Either I'm wrong or you guys have already figured this out and I just couldn't find it in the thread.

not quite
Well, I think I jumped the gun. It definitely has some similar parts, but no, it's not the song. Perhaps the Big Apple routine would fit to it though.

Re: not quite
It's a good song though, and I can hear the similarities. But looking up the song online, it was recorded in 1945, so even if they were related, you'd have to conclude that this song inspired by the Big Apple song or an earlier version.hepcat72 wrote:Well, I think I jumped the gun.
