Crap, I was confused, as someone points out above. Well, this CD has other amazing' bitchin' stuff, just not the Lady Be Good soundie. Sorry! The George and Ira Gershwin set is really only good for the soundie LBG but that version just smokes. It was worth paying like $25 for one song.mousethief wrote:http://www.towerrecords.com/product.aspx?pfid=1830430GemZombie wrote:I'm still on a quest for that album... no one ever has it when i'm at the cd store.
I just ordered one up.

Artie Shaw dead?

every swing DJ should have:
don't worry about the ugly cover -- this is the real deal. fifteen swinging tracks, ten from 1940 and five from 1945, with great remastering and teriffic liner notes as you'd expect from RCA's "Bluebird" label. Cheap from Amazon's "used" shops. "Hop, Skip, and Jump" is (or should be) a lindy hop anthem. (Kevin and Carla use it in workshops.) Go go go!

Nuanced? No way. He once said something that really ticked me off, so I can't stand him!!Shanabanana wrote:Or perhaps you could just accept the fact that someone can have a nuanced view of Artie Shaw, especially since Artie Shaw himself had such a strong (and often negative) personality.Charleston Charlie wrote:I think there needs to be a seperate thread for the Artie-haters.
Please, Shana, we are supposed to be one-dimensional, here.
