Take the "A" Train - I play both the version off of the Ken Burns Jazz Duke Ellington, and the version off the Duke Ellington Blanton/Webster Band - I think they might be the same recording, although I've never bother to look. To me it's the classic version.

Goody Goody - This is off of Decca's 75th Birthday Celebration for Ella Fitzgerald - a 2 CD set that I've had for many years before starting to dance. Again, since this is a compilation I don't know what the source recording for it is.

maybe it was the red lettering that triggered my reaction! After 2nd thought I withdraw Whistle Stop and Sing Sing Sing; while they are great newbie songs which I still hear a lot, they don't get played at exchanges...

Haha. You must be thinking of "Easy Does It". I haven't played "Moten Swing" in a long time. That's funny because I did play "Easy Does It" during my only set at the first late night dance at ULHS.

There's just too much great music out there to overplay anything. I also know that I get bored of songs more quickl;y when I am DJing regularly because I hear my own stuff more than almost anyone else.
