March Thursday Guest DJ: Jesse Gearhart

Tune into Yehoodi Radio every Thursday this month to hear the finest swinging tunes selected by Jesse Gearhart from San Luis Obispo, California. He will be our featured guest DJ throughout March.

"I'm a dancer and DJ from San Luis Obispo, California (SLO). Like many swing DJ's, I started primarily as a dancer and eventually wanted to share my collection amongst the dancers in my area. I have been dancing for over 5 years, a Swing Dance DJ for about almost 4, and local radio host of the "Swingcat's Ball" for almost 2. I started dancing because of the love for the music that I had been listening to and playing with various Jazz groups since I was a teen." Check out Jesse at www.sloswing.com"

March Friday Producer's Picks: Variations On A Theme

I've selected sixteen of my favorite swinging standards and am presenting four different treatments of each. From "All Of Me" to "Things Ain't What They Used To Be", from Ella Fitzgerald to Depeche Mode, these are some memorable melodies done differently by a variety of artists. Tune into Yehoodi Radio every Friday to hear this month's "Producer's Picks".

April Thursday Guest DJ: Manu Smith

Tune into Yehoodi Radio every Thursday this month to hear the finest swinging tunes selected by Yehoodi's own loveable Manu "Spuds" Smith from New York City. Without Manu, there would be no Yehoodi Radio, nor Yehoodi for that matter. He will be our featured guest DJ throughout April.

"Like most everything he is involved in Spuds got into being a swing DJ almost by accident. He was asked to play a few songs at an event until the 'real' DJ showed up. He built up a collection of bouncy tunes and now he's DJed in many parts of the world. Spuds really loves lindy hop and after 5 years he still hasn't had enough. He dances, teaches, DJ's, cuts music and loves to talk about himself in the third person."

April Friday Producer's Picks: Song Association

Remember those fun Song Association topics that seem to go on and on forever? Well I came up with my own (with plenty of help from Rayned). How do you get from "L.O.V.E." to "Evil Gal Blues" to "Pennies from Heaven"? Listen to "Producer's Picks" every Friday in April on Yehoodi Radio to find out.

Enjoy!

Anyone else got a playlist? I'd like to avoid repeats as much as possible next month, if for no other reason than to add a little extra challenge.

well , Its not just that. Look at the playlist...it's awesome and carries enough weight to obviously allow for a Bowie tune. :)

for a radio show, it wouldn't make sense...But Live, playin with the crowd anything goes sometimes...
