Phantom Dancer - swing & dance from live 1920s-50s radio

#1 Post by phantom dancer » Wed Jun 23, 2004 1:05 am

Playlist for next Tuesday, June 29 Phantom Dancer is now up at www.gregpoppleton.com. The Phantom Dancer is Australia's longest running Swing & Dance show. It has been heard on 107.3 2SER-FM in Sydney, presented by Greg Poppleton, Australia's only 1920s & 30s-style singer, since 1985. You can hear it on 2SER-FM and over 2ser.com from 10:30am-12 Noon AEST, which I think is 0030 - 0230 GMT. Highlights for this week are The Yam played by Benny Goodman via WABC NY in 1938, Chick Webb from WNAC in Boston in 1939, and Sydney's own Jim Davidson & the Australian Broadcasting Commission Dance Orchestra from 1938. Enjoy!

*meeble*
I wanna hear this. Stupid bad internet at home and no sound at work.
Too bad there's no digital equivalent for hte average person for, "Can you tape this for me?" Filling up a hard drive and compressing just isn't the same as putting a tape in a boom box and hitting, "Record." :D
