Indigo- Classic neo chesse IMO. Especially the first CD. The later CD's took a different angle on neo, but still the 'classic' neo
Casey McGill - Rhythm is a good (for neo) song. Not a lot of Cheese factor, and not a lot of the rompin blaring horn sound of most neo big bands. However, the rest of the stuff borders on the spy vs. spy stuff and whatnot. (this is all from memory, my CD is at home, so I am not listening to it atm) They do have another song that is popular to play, and that fits the classic definition of neo cheese.
MBK=crap, (I diasgree on your assesment of playing good blues. When Sam Burkhart was with them they were all right, but besides that they play crap)

Indigo swing=some good boogie woogie songs, a few other good tunes, but also a lot of crap.

So this movie is out in theaters right now or did it come out and quitely went away? I ask because this is the first I've heard of this movie. Not that I care. It's just puzzling that I have not seen anything about this movie until I looked at this thread. By the way, Nell Carter died right? And that happened in Jan 2003 so that means that filming had to be in 2002. And now it is 2004 and they are just releasing it? I've seen the movie, and it is possibly one of the most amazing films I've ever seen. The acting is top-notch and Oscar-worthy, and the dancing rivals Hellzapoppin'.

All I know is that they were casting for dancers right when I was levaing SF, Novemberish 2002. They were casting in B-Way studios
OMG some of the dancers that made the cut were absolutely wretched. Not sure who got spotlight dances, camera time, etc.... but half the casting was appearance/costume and the other half was how hot you were.
Not sure how much weight they put into the dancing aspect of it.
