why do the avatars sometimes show up when you click on a thread, and sometimes are MIA?

I'd don't know what to tell you. I've never experienced that, and I check the board quite often. Anyone else?

Are you sure that you're logged in? If you aren't logged in, then you don't get to see the avatars.

Good answer. Avatars are one of the many pieces of personal information that are only viewable to logged-in members of our community. If you are just a visitor and not logged in, then you will definitely not see avatars.
