Uploading Avatars

#1 Post by JesseMiner » Wed Nov 20, 2002 10:35 pm

You can now upload avatars to the server. They can be up to 80x80 pixels. I will soon be disabling the remote avatar feature (where you can link to another URL for your avatar) as there is no way to control the size of these images.

If anyone wants help with creating an avatar, I can gladly help out. If you email me a photo, I can size it properly for you.

Linking to remote avatars has now been disabled. I have done this for two reasons: 1. There is the potential for broken links, when those avatars aren't avaible for some reason and 2. There is no control over how large these avatars came be.

You are still more than welcome to load your avatar onto this server. See above post for more details.

Assuming you are asking a serious question, an avatar is the image (my photo) that shows up below my name next to each of my posts. You can upload a photo of yourself as your avatar in your Profile settings.

I somewhat guessed that was it from the context, but I really did not know what it was. Never heard of it. Now I have my "word of the day." :)
