outdoors vs. indoors?

Exactly. You can try ham and cheese sandwiches all you want, but that's not going to make you like them anymore. People have their various tastes in music, and you can never say "you're wrong because you're not expanding your tastes". Same with forcing someone to play music they don't enjoy. How is it going to make them a better DJ? In fact, I would think that this would make the DJ pretty miserable playing music that he knows he can't please a crowd with.

I suggested this to Greg for ALHC this year, back when there was a groove vs. classic debate (read: tard-war) shortly after ALHC 2002. Yeah, you probably wouldn't own the records necessary, but you could, I dunno, DJ from the other guy's CDs.

The question of DJing music you don't like is a sticking point of course.

I just think it would be interesting. Once.
