so i bought the vestax handytrax, it's been my only record player... not bad! i even DJ'd off it! i put the player on the stage and there was no skipping!
it's about $150 at samedayelectronics.com. comes with a 1-yr manuf. warranty. it's sweet because it has a headphone jack so you can plug it into anything that you can plug a walkman into. also there's an amplified stereo output jack, you don't need a "phono input" thingy.
also it's totally portable and sweet.
