djay software + Micro II hardware

#1 Post by DJ Nick B. » Fri Mar 27, 2015 1:55 am

I'm a relatively new DJ (I started in January), and I've been using the djay software on my Mac along with the Turtle Beach Micro II sound card for pre-cueing, per the advice of my trainer. The problem is that it works when it wants to. I'm not sure if it's an issue with the software or the hardware, which is why I'm asking y'all.

Here's what I'm trying to do. I would like to plug the sound card into my USB port, then plug the speakers into the sound card. Then I'd like to plug my headphones directly into my computer's headphone jack and pre-cue directly through the computer, while playing my music for the dancers through the sound card.

So what do I need to do hardware- and software-wise in order to get my pre-cued track to play through my headphones and my regular output to play through the sound card?

First of all, what software are you using, and is it capable of running simultaneous outputs/zones? If yes, then you need to go into the settings and choose your output devices. Set one of them to the headphone jack, and the other to the sound card.

As I said in my above post, I am using djay. It's a Mac DJing program I got from the Mac App Store.
