DJ Software

#1 Post by powellt » Tue May 27, 2014 8:59 pm

I am an amateur, and I have had unending nightmares trying to DJ with I-Tunes using a PC. I am running a new laptop with current Windows as well. My song selections are consistently met with message "file location cannot be found". At any given time, I will have 10-20% of my library "missing".

I have been told that running I-Tunes on anything but a Mac is always going to a problem. Can anyone recommend decent software that is similar in capability but PC friendly?

Thanks,

Houston

A lot of people, including myself, use JRiver MediaCenter - though it's not free. It has excellent library management functions and you can also output to two different sound cards for previewing (though it's kind of clunky)

MediaMonkey is also very popular and it's free.

Foobar - some like it but I've also read some reviews that suggest it is well named.

Jukebox is the free version of Jriver... http://www.jriver.com/mj/
(it's essentially just a stripped down version 14, whereas the current version is 19)
