Direct mp3 edit for Mac

#1 Post by anton » Mon Aug 22, 2011 11:07 pm

I'm looking for a Mac software that will allow me to do simple editing tasks *directly* on mp3s, like simple cuts, fades and volume adjustments. For Windows, there's a perfect freeware program, directmp3edit, that does exactly this. I tried to run it through Wine but wasn't successful.

There's Fission- which claims to give you 'lossless' mp3 editing - I have it, and it's pretty good for the basic stuff.

For more sophisticated edits, I use Amadeus Pro.

I've used both of these, and I like Amadeus Pro, which I use for editing. I think you lose a tiny bit of quality, but I haven't noticed any difference. I don't think it works directly though - you have to save your new version with a different name, I think.
