iTunes 8.0.2 Equalizer 'bug'

#1 Post by Haydn » Fri Dec 19, 2008 7:42 am

Is anyone else using iTunes 8.0.2? There seems to be a bug with the Equalizer. When you play a song with a custom EQ setting, iTunes picks that up and uses it for other songs that don't have a custom EQ (it should switch back to your standard EQ setting). This worked fine for me in iTunes 7.6.2, but not so in 8.0.2.

I am guessing this is a bug that Apple will fix in time. It's very annoying at the moment though. In fact, I'm thinking of downgrading back to version 7. Any ideas for doing that without losing song information?

It looks as though this is a bug, as several people have reported the same problem on Apple's support forums:

I've just downgraded from iTunes 8.0.2 to iTunes 7.7.1 following these instructions -

A bit of work is involved (the more complex your iTunes set up, the more work, it seems), but the equalizer problem has gone, it now works just fine :)
