a fellow dj told me that v13 has a bunch of cool editing features. Haven't tried it yet but that may get me to download it for a spin. or two.

ok I downloaded v13 this weekend. Good thing I had given myself some time to check it out before I dj'ed since you get a brand new executable; the library is imported for you, but any changes you make in v13 are not backward compatible to v12. The v12 executable remains installed and can be used side by side.

All the settings I had on the v12 didn't transfer over so I had to figure them out again; but after a good night of dj'ing on Sunday I uninstalled v12. The first thing I noticed is the multiple tabs on the panes, kind of cool, you can organize by different genre or whatever and then easily switch between them instead of having to resort all the time.

I'll report back once I get around to checking out the editing features.

Cheers!

Heck, I didn't even know there were editing features in v13. I'll have to look through those. One thing that's annoyed me though is the DSP studio seems to have regressed a bit regarding the tempo/pitch functions. I can only move the sliders by 6% increments, whereas I could do 1% in v12.

About the libraries, v13 in an entirely separate library from v12, which is why changes are not backwards compatible.

I've started a DJ's feature request thread on JR's board. I've gotten a bit of traction getting new features added for DJs, including single mode (stop after every track).

The more J. River users or potential users who post on there, the more traction we'll get toward features we want.
