Speed correction on an old soundtrack

#1 Post by Eyeball » Tue May 30, 2006 1:20 pm

Back in the 1990s, a freind of mine reissued a very rare and vocal-less recording - possibly intended as a 'practice' disc for the vocalists - of the song "Serenade In Blue" that was recorded in 1942 over at 20th Century-Fox studios for use in the film, "Orchestra Wives".

The disc was never used in the film as it had no vocal and also because the final arrangement evolved from the one that he issued on CD.

The disc was not in great shape, but the biggest hassle was the speed variations, mostly at the beginning of the disc.

He said he had a first rate engineer named Doug Pomeroy working on it back then.

We were just e-mailing about this today and I mentioned to him that a lot of new 'tech' stuff has come out in the past decade and maybe someone could fix what needed to be fixed.

If I get an MP3 and post it here, would somone want to listen to it and see if they know of any device or program or skill that could now make it more listenable.

Thanks.

I just e-mailed my friend for a mp3 file.
