I’ve heard that the software that comes with the iMic to record Vinyl is only Mac compatible, ie it does not work on PC. Is this true or false?

Any how,
I looked into the iMic Website in detail, and yes the recording software is only Mac compatible. So if you are buying it for a PC you are just buying it for its hardware capabilities. Which I still think is very good for $39.

I've seen them up to 100GB at the mac store.

I have two of those... I have a 40gig, and an 80gig. These are awesome, bus powered USB drives. I highly recommend them. Best Buy carries 20,40,60 and 80 gig models.

They are all on sale right now at Best Buy. Generally these drives are a bit more because they are bus powered (no external power supply needed), and are very compact. Again I have to say I hightly recommend these drives. They are the best investment i have made for music storage.

They have a new version, called the FireFly (as opposed to the FireFly), that is even smaller (comes in a 20gig version)... about the foot print of a credit card (thicker of course).

* Cute 20 gig version - really small - $143
* 40 gig version - $139
* 60 gig version - $179

I bought my 80gig there, but It's not currently listed on their website. I was at the store just a few days ago, so I know they have them in stock.

Anyone that is using Winamp for DJing should check out the DJ Helper plugin. It's awesome. Count and instantly add BPM into the 'comment' section of the MP3 tag, save cue points and a bazillion other helpful things.

How are you finding using it?
Does it support all the types of files that WimAmp support (it only mentions MP3 and WAV on the website)?

ok, here is another question. It might have been answered before but I just don't feel like browsing through 16 pages to look for an answer

When I am DJ'ing with my laptop I usually have it fully charged to avoid any power failures. Furthermore, if the laptop is plugged in I constantly hear a buzzing sounds coming out of the speakers.

Is there anyway to have your laptop plugged in and avoid that background noise that accurs?

get a three prong to two prong converter for the power cord. apparently it gets rid of the ground loop issue of the laptop and the system. 69 cents at Home Depot.
