Lindy Gras - A Closer Walk...
Second Lines, Brass Bands and the Jazz Funeral
January 20-23, 2005 - New Orleans, LA

This year's exchange draws attention to a cherished tradition in New Orleans, The Jazz Funeral. Revelers will find themselves immersed in history as Gallier Hall, (est. 1845) is transformed into a shrine dedicated to Second Lines, Brass Bands, and musicians past whose profound influence helped shaped this city.

Highlights of this year's event are sure to include the SEVEN BANDS, our own SECOND LINE between the main and after-hours venues, the FRENCH QUARTER PUB STRUT and a collaborative effort between Dance New Orleans, Inc., and the JAZZ NATIONAL PARK.

Space is extremely limited as we have reduced the number of registrants we will accept. For more details, and to register, visit: http://www.lindygras.com

Keith, this may end up being an all DJ exchange if you don't watch out. I think those DJ's who went last want to go back and I know those who didn't like myself want to go for sure....

If a gasoline tanker rammed a freight car of propane gas and an immense fireball immolated me and my car, my disgustingly charred and burned corpse would drag itself with rotting undead fingers across thousands of miles of burning desert and raging rednecks to make an appearance at Lindy Gras. Buy it a drink, or suffer a hideous curse for all eternity.

Thank God it's official because I've been sitting on the secrets too long and it's been killing me.

This will be the event of 2005.

I hope to make it after all I heard about last year's event. Hopefully I'll have the cash to do so.

I really want to go. I'm out of vacation and broke from traveling so much this year, but this event is a priority --- and Travis is pimping it out in Seattle so I think we will have quite a large Seattle contingent there.
