Reuben seems to be acting just as if not more haughty as he claims Dave is. But, to be fair, there are other, more descriptive superlatives Dave could (and probably should) use than "greatest band ever" or "greatest band *you'll* ever have the chance to dance to," which implicitly (and even casuallly) demeans all bands that everyone on this list has seen, which is quite broad: especially on this list with people who have put together custom-made bands, themselves (ummmm) , and especially before the line-up is even finalized. I've made the same mistake, myself, so I understand that Dave's hype comes from enthusiasm, not condescention.

To be sure, putting together a stellar line-up is only the first (and, ironically, perhaps easiest) step in putting together a great live show.

All I can say is, it's hard to be humble when you got a line-up this good LOL!

Lawrence, the band line-up is finalized. It's the other details of the event that aren't yet. But the band - and the 10,000 square foot beautiful space - is all confirmed.

It's probably a toss up between Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra during the "For Dancers Only" tour and the Eddie Reed Big Band "back in the day."

I can't wait for this! I don't really even care about the dancing.

When Dave first started day dreaming about this I thought it was a little far fetched. Then I thought "It's Shorty Dave, it could happen".

Lord knows, in Websters dictionary, next to the word "Enthusiastic' is a etching of Dave Jacoby. However, being one of Dave's partners in crime, and knowing the lineup, I can say that many people will NOT find Dave's statements about this event to be overly boastful...many will find it accurate....and Guru Ruben may even give the event a nod.

Hold on to your hats. It is going to be a very exciting event.

I really liked HRO at Harlem, but my favorite was Lily Wilde at the Portland exchange a couple of years ago --- her full in-town band was there (normally when we see her in Seattle she has a traveling band), and it was an excellent combination of a hot band, a good floor, enough room to dance, and plenty of great leads.

Her tenor sax player has started a new smaller band called Porkpie, they played at the Seattle exchange last year and were excellent.
