Peter, Sugar AND Reuben?? in Seattle

#1 Post by Petitetonya » Tue Jul 15, 2003 6:01 pm

One of Seattle's favorite dj's, Reuben Brown will be spinning the tunes at this event...I have heard through the grapevine that Mike Faltesek is going to possibly be coming to this event as well...hopefully we can convince him to spin some tunes while he is there as well!

The next Jitterbug Weekend will feature Peter Loggins & Savoy Ballroom legend, Sugar Sullivan on September 26th, 27th & 28th at the beautiful Century Ballroom on Capitol Hill!!
PETER LOGGINS’ passion for Lindy Hop, jazz dance history and teaching creates a contagious eneregy throughout the weekend. Besides teaching great lindy hop material, Peter brings the knowledge and importance of the roots of lindy hop to the weekend.

SUGAR SULLIVAN started to Lindy Hop when she was 14, and became partners with some of the best dancers that ever lived such as Big Nick and Teddy Brown by 1955 (as seen in the documentary "The Spririt Moves"). She won the Harvest Moon Ball with her husband George and continued performing into the 1980's with the Mama Lu Parks dance company. Sugar also partnered with the legendary Al Minns who was one of the original Whitey's Lindy Hoppers.

This will be a great weekend as per always. Tonya knows how to throw a good time, and, well, dancing in Seattle is ALWAYS a good time.
