Vote for Dancers Choice-Swing Hall of Fame International before our Festival!

People are allready voting for a 'Favorite DJ' catagory for next year!

1. Vote for most notable POSTHUMOUS SWING CREATOR award: A deceased Master ('old timer') who danced in the 1920-1940's swing era:|
Ann Johnson, Dean Collins, Fred Astaire, Herbert "Whitey" White, Maxie Dorf, Shorty George Snowden, The Nicholas Brothers, or Willie Desatoff.

2. Vote for most Notable SWING CREATOR: A living Master ('old timer') who danced in the 1920-1940's swing era documented in film, print... etc:
Dean Raftery, Frankie Manning, Freda Angela Wycoff, Hal Takier, Marge Takier, or Ray Hisch.


3. Vote for the most notable COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTOR: This can be any Joe or Jane Blow, to a historian, or to any organizer; it doesn't have to be a teacher or champion:
Chris Chapman (seattleswing.com), Benji Schwimmer, Chad Kubo, Dwight Lupardis, Frankie Manning, Freddie Dickinson, Gabe Takacs, H. 4. Vote for most INSPIRATIONAL MALE DANCER: a male dancer who has inspired you with their dancing:
Frankie Manning, George Lloyd, Manu Smith, Mario Robau Jr., Nick Williams, Steve Garrett, or Trevor Gattis.


5. Vote for most INSPIRATIONAL FEMALE DANCER: a female dancer who has inspired you with their dancing:
Dawn Hampton, Blake Hobby, Frida Segerdahl, Heidi Salerno, Natalie Gomes, or Sylvia Sykes.


6. Vote for most INSPIRATIONAL TEACHER(s): a teacher or teachers who has inspired us or made a substantial change in the swing dancing community:

Awards Event and announcements will happen December 14th (Presence not required; but we'd love to have you!)

2008 Awards and North American Open
will be Hosted at the SF Bal Fest December 11-15, 2008
and in your city the following year...
Hall of Fame book (with all nominees and awardies) will travel with the North American Open to your city in 2009;

Nominate your event to house the 2009 North American Open with International Hall of Fame Awards at your event: Organizers we will host the Championships and Awards Ceremony at your Festival with no additional work for you; Contact us by email or phone for more details.

My initial reaction was sceptical - who gets in, how, why, who's involved etc; but on reflection, why not do it? Good luck to all involved.
