AWESOME PICTURES!
Many folks have asked who has provided the amazing photography we use for our promotional material, and though the info is listed at the bottom of our website, we feel it's worth giving a shout out to these amazing photographers! First, the images found on our Special Edition garment design were taken by the amazing Hilary Mercer. Her work, as well as great images by Aris Pikeas, and unofficial documentarians Colin Butler, Laura Clay, and Zoe Whittaker have also appeared in our various advertisements and videos.

MEET THE LINDY FOCUS IX TEAM

IT'S LINDY FOCUS REGISTRATION TIME!
Alright, guys - Registration opens Monday, June 13th at 9pm EST. As always, the first few batches of registrants save good money. Last year we sold over 50 slots in under 1 minute, and the next price tier within 2 minutes, and we expect this year to be just as competitive! To help with this, we strongly recommend creating an account ahead of time (NOTE: if you have a previous year's Lindy Focus or Southern Belle account, make sure to retrieve that account using the log in screen.)

REGISTRATION TIPS
Even though it's worth your while to get to the site right when registration opens, you don't need to RUSH to fill out your registration. Once you begin the registration process and choose a pass-type, you've got it reserved for you until you finish filling out the form (unless you quit your browser or your computer explodes).

NEW TRAILER: THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!
We borrowed a phrase from our photographer Hilary Mercer as the title for this trailer which features highlights from last year's event, including social jams, competitions, and of course performances, including the City of Rhythm New Year's show.

REGISTRATION OPENS TODAY (JUNE 13TH) @ 9PM EDT
This year we're using a tiered registration system in which those who sign up the soonest pay the least. As always, the first few batches of registrants save good money. Last year we sold over 50 slots in under 1 minute, and the next price tier within 2 minutes, and we expect this year to be just as competitive! The opening awesome price of $199 gets you five nights of dancing with amazing bands and DJ's, 4 days of classes from many of the top instructors in the world, and of course your unforgettable New Year's party!

Only full camp passes are being sold at this stage! Dance passes and New Years Only passes will be sold later this summer.

IMPORTANT REGISTRATION DETAILS
First and foremost, you should sign up for an account *before* registration opens. Might as well do it now! This will save time and stress during the registration process. If you already have an account with us, we STRONGLY recommend you retrieve that account info using our automated system so you aren't frustratedly trying to do that AS you register. Also, just in case you were wondering what types of questions we ask during registration, we're providing a picture of our registration screen so you know what to expect.
SEE A PREVIEW: http://www.lindyfocus.com/regform.php

TRACK SYSTEM ANNOUNCED
This year we've got a wide range of tracked classes to allow you to explore your different dance goals. Classes are divided into Main Tracks, Side Tracks, and electives. Your main track usually meets twice per day; think of this as your major. Your side track usually meets once per day; think of this as your minor. There will also be a wide range of electives to choose from for which you don't need to register.

Your main Lindy Hop tracks include Beginner, Beginner-Intermediate, Intermediate, Intermediate/Advanced, Advanced, and Masters. Furthermore, we will be offering a Lindy Hop Comp & Show track that is a mixed-level track, but we recommend at least an Intermediate/Advanced level of experience, and an Advanced Jazz track. Also, we are very excited to once again be offering two full Balboa tracks: Intermediate & Advanced.

Your Side Tracks are Movement Training, Beginner Blues, Intermediate Blues, Beginner Intermediate Balboa, Beginner Tap, Burlesque, Intro to Aerials, Advanced Aerials, Swingout Analysis, Intermediate Charleston, Advanced Charleston, and Vintage Transcriptions! IMPORTANT: Make sure to read up on these tracks for any level or partner requirements!

THE TRI-SWING TOURNAMENT
This year's featured competition will be an event like no other. The Tri-Swing Tournament was established in the days of old as a friendly competition between the three most established schools of dance wizardry: Lindy Hop, Balboa, and Slow Drag/Blues. Champions were selected to represent each style, and all competed in syncopated showdowns. The powers-that-be took turns in hosting the tournament, happening only once every five years. It was generally agreed to be a most excellent method of establishing ties between aspiring dance stars of different styles...until, that is, the death toll mounted so high that the tournament was discontinued.

However rumors grew of a discovery in the East - after years of being lost, the Tri-Swing Cup was discovered once again! Our own Departments of Interdisciplinary Swing Dance Cooperation and Jazz Inspired Games and Sports, having made the discovery, have jointly deemed that the time is ripe to resurrect the aged-old Tri-Swing Tournament. All may enter the tournament and all entering shall be champions in their own right. The departments have worked tirelessly over the summer to ensure that all champions remain unharmed, however enter at your own risk!

The format shall be as follows. All competitors must enter with a single partner, and will dance to music selected by the musical adepts among the Lindy Focus staff. The preliminaries shall consist of all-skate heats, during which competitors will be asked to dance Lindy Hop, Balboa, and Slow Drag/Blues in successive rounds which shall be independently judged. The finals shall consist of a grand competitive jam which requires them to demonstrate their showmanship as well as versatility in all styles.

Eternal glory! That is what awaits the winners of the Tri-Swing Tournament. We await your arrival this New Years!

We expect all divisions to sell out. Register soon.

WELCOME JOSH COLLAZO
We're very excited to announce that vintage jazz drumming phenom Josh Collazo will be joining Jonathan Stout (Campus Five and Orchestra) to round out what is already an unforgettable lineup of the very best in live swing music.

- Several Balboa Electives
- Open and Invitational Balboa Jack & Jill Competitions
- Two daytime Balboa meetups / practices
- A special place for Bal dancers to meet up and ID each other at main dances
- Balboa-specific alternate late night dance rooms!

NEW THIS YEAR: FIELD DAY!
You asked for it and you got it -- A day of blessed downtime! Or, well, sort of. In the middle of camp (the 30th), we're very excited to be having our first ever Field Day: a day of no main classes, but lots of amazing things to do, many of which are AWESOME, but none of which are mandatory. We'll have amazing lectures and video presentations with Lennart Westerlund and Peter Loggins, vintage fashion workshops/craftshops (hair, makeup, and accessories for women AND men), hosted practice sessions, music and tap jams, and an all-day Youtube and games room! Side Tracks and elective classes will also meet. So if you need to take a breather, you can by all means do so - but you can also participate in this awesome selection of both unique learning opportunities and silly fun times.

CAMP SCHEDULE LIVE
Our mostly-finished detailed Camp Schedule is now online, including classes, competitions, field day activities, and more! We will continue to update this schedule with the latest information over the next two weeks.
HEALTH AND WELLNESS STAFF ADDED
As regular attendees know well, we do our best to provide for your physical upkeep while you're here, and to that effect we're happy to announce our wellness staff for this year: Morning Yoga classes will be led by Kathleen Hahn, Evening Yoga classes will be led by Jennifer Cutler, a special field day foot-focused partner stretching class will be taught by Elyse Sparkes, and our massage therapists, available by signup and working throughout camp are Jason Sager and Emily Watson.

MORE REASONS TO GET A DANCE PASS
So, in addition to evening activities (dances, competitions, performances) dance pass holders can also take advantage of a whole range of other non-dance-class happenings such as lectures, yoga classes, all field day activities, and of course you can also take private lessons from any of our amazing instructors and special guests - come join us!

ADDED SPONSORS - ALL BAL!
We're also very excited to have added some event sponsors, including All Balboa Weekend for the Open Balboa Jack and Jill, and Jason Sager and Elyse Sparks (massage therapists) for our Invitational divisions! Some hard-working winners are going to be very happy…
