Lone Star Championships 2009

#1 Post by babyscott » Mon Jun 16, 2008 1:26 pm

Dun dun DUHHHH!!! Lone Star Championships is back for our second year! This year promises to have more exciting competitions and performances, amazing workshops from some of the world's finest dancers and instructors, and of course, ridiculous amounts of social dancing.

So mark January 23-25th, 2009 on your calendar, put it on your refrigerator, write it on your forehead... because you do NOT want to miss out!

Here are just four of the many reasons why:
Nina Gilkenson.
Carla Heiney.
Mike Faltesek.
Mikey Pedroza.

What what what? Yes, these are our headlining instructors for Lone Star '09! If you don't know who they are (for shame! :) then check out their bios / pics / videos on our workshops page:
http://www.lonestarchampionships.com/workshops.php

We also have a good deal of other information up there as well. Check it out. And we will see you in Austin in January!

PS. Here is what one 2008 attendee had to say: "If you asked me, I will say that Lone Star was the most successful dance event. It was well organized and there was not a dull moment. I had never seen more smiles on peoples faces than at that amazing weekend."

Lone Star Championships UPDATE!

#2 Post by babyscott » Tue Oct 07, 2008 3:51 pm

Lone Star Championships -- January 23-25th, 2009 -- Austin Texas

In just a couple of days, registration for Lone Star will be live! And as promised, here is a special announcement about our registration: The first 40 people to register for Lone Star '09 will get the event for even cheaper! It's just $69 for the first 40 people! Stay tuned - registration is going up soon. We will send out another email with the exact time.

Created by Tena Morales of Houston, Scott Angelius of Austin, and Don West of Dallas, Lone Star Championships is a social event, party weekend, that will knock your socks off! We believe that competitions bring us together to push and inspire each other to grow as dancers and as a community, as well as bring us together to support and cheer for each other. So all of the competitions at Lone Star are fun and friendly - and for all level dancers to compete with like-competitors.

That said, this weekend is a party first! So expect tons of dancing all night, with classes and most of the competitions during the day.

Here is what another '08 attendee had to say: "Bonus gifts included in the weekend pass were: unique venues, southern hospitality, and spring-like weather in the middle of winter."

PS. Check out what another 2008 attendee had to say about Lone Star: "What made the event fantastic for me was the overall friendless and hospitality that the out-of-towners were given. The event staff, teaching staff, and locals were approachable (or they would approach me first!), easy to talk to, and friendly, which made the dances even more fun. It really felt like you had a team of people with the mission of getting to know out-of-towners. It was great."
