Swingin’ at the Crossroads
October 17-19, 2008
Des Moines, Iowa

Join Swing Des Moines! in welcoming Joel and Alison Plys to the Crossroads of America for a fun packed weekend of instruction and Swing dancing.

The weekend starts with Jive Junction, Swing Des Moines! monthly swing dance held at the West Des Moines Community Center in historic Valley Junction.

Saturday and Sunday will see a total of 10 hours of instruction in several of the Swing Dance disciplines, including 20’s Charleston, both Solo and Partner, Jazz movement, Lindy, Balboa, and Collegiate Shag, and the weekend classes will end with the Madison.

Saturday night Swing Des Moines! will be hosting another dance with a band that will be announced soon.

The cost for the entire weekend of classes and dances is as follows:

Before July 31st - $45
After July 31st - $65
Out of state groups of 10 or more – 15% off current rate (email for details)

Individual Workshop - $15
Friday Dance only - $5 general public, $3 SDSM members
Saturday Dance only - $10

This is obviously a great bargain for a weekend that will feature 2 fun dances and 2 days of workshops with 2 world class instructors – Joel and Alison Plys of 2PlySwing.

This will be Alison's final year of major traveling for events, so don't miss this opportunity to see this dynamic duo here in Des Moines.

We hope that you’ll join the central Iowa swing dancing community for this fun filled weekend.
