The Big Big Event is THIS weekend!

Last chance to Represent
Online registration will close this Wednesday, June 13th. After that we will still sell weekend passes at the door on Friday evening and Saturday morning.

Don’t forget that Dance Only passes are also available to guarantee you entrance into all the dances on Friday and Saturday nights. We're getting a lot of last minute delegates. This is your opportunity to make sure that you don't get shut out at the polls

We are pleased to announce that we will take drop-ins for the Intern and Staffer level workshops. Individual sessions are $15.00 each. The Chief of Staff level classes are only available with a weekend pass. Also note that an additional Chief of Staff track audition has been added to the schedule. It will take place before the start of the Friday evening dance with The Cangelosi Cards.

Scheduling Amendments
Please note that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we are making some changes to the workshop schedule. The final schedule will be up later this week before the weekend.

Floor Action
The dance contest will be on Saturday night. You can sign up at anytime during the day on Saturday or at the evening dance before the first band break. There will be an all skate prelim round and finals danced jam style to live music provided by The Boilermaker Jazz Band later that night.

Thank you so much to everyone who supported our very first Big Big Event! The workshops and dances were amazing, and having people come from across the country was really rewarding for us. We hope everyone who participated had a great time.

We’d also like to thank the following people for helping us make this weekend more awesome than it deserved to be:

Our guest instructors: Ria DiBiase, Mike Faltesek, Nikki Marvin, and Mikey Pedroza.
The bands: The Cangelosi Cards & The Boilermaker Jazz Band.
Our DJ’s: Allen Kerr, Betsy Kipperman, Mike Marcotte, and Glenn Scales.
And our hosts: Glen Echo Park, The National Park Service, and Jane Ford and her K2 Dance Studio.

And to everyone who volunteered and chipped in at the last minute even when they didn’t have to. Thanks for reminding us of the many generous and dedicated people that are a part of the Lindy Hop community around the country and especially here in DC.

Congratulations to the winners of The 1st annual Big Big Event Lindy Hop Contest who won tickets generously donated to us by Wicked Lindy Weekend 2007, Lindy On The Rocks 2008, Camp Jitterbug 2008:

1st place-Dianne Eramo & Lee Tucker
2nd place-Crista Seipp & Jeramie Anderson
3rd place-Lily Matini & Phil Onochie

Check out contest footage here on YouTube.

Don’t forget Friday night’s teacher jam with The Cangelosi Cards and Saturday’s special performance by Emily Hoffberg and Kevin St. Laurent.

See other BBE and Jam Cellar videos at http://youtube.com/jamcellar

Pictures are up courtesy of our lovely photographers Sarah Hodzic and Soo Clark. We’d love to see more, so feel free to post your own.

We hope to see everyone again next year! Thank you!
