Swing Dance USA-Mid-Atlantic Challenge

SWING DANCE USA.....(SDUSA)
Swing Dance USA National Swing Dance Convention and Competition is held the first weekend of every October. This is its third year in existence, and we have been asked to host a regional level competition, in order to promote the event and to award our dancers the opportunity to qualify for the SDUSA championships in October. Which winners can have the chance to go all the way to the ALHC 2007 FOR FREE!

The Mid-Atlantic Challenge (TMAC) will consist of eight preliminary rounds leading up to the championship. To participate in the Championship you must qualify by winning one of the eight preliminary rounds. The "Elite Eight" will then compete for the Mid Atlantic title as well as the opportunity to represent our region at SWING DANCE USA where they will spend a Weekend Jam packed with concerts from the best bands in America. Including several lessons from the most sought after instructors in the world, and be entered into the competitive advanced division of their choice.

PRELIM #1: January 20th
PRELIM #2: Febuary 17th
PRELIM #3: March 17th
PRELIM #4: April 21st
PRELIM #5: May 19th
PRELIM #6: June 16th
PRELIM #7: July 21st
PRELIM #8: August 18th
TMAC finale August 18th

THE RULES
Preliminary Rounds are in an all-skate format. All forms of swing are welcome, ariels and movements that present a danger to other couples on the floor are prohibited.

The Audience Participation will determine the winning couple of the evening, whom will qualify for the TMAC and will be guests-of-honor at the following Lindy Riot as paid instructors. Once you have qualified you will not be permitted to enter into another round untill the finale.

The TMAC championship round will consists of two segments an all-skate and a show case. Five (5) couples will be eliminated in the all skate and the top three will be spotlighted one at a time to live music. The finale will have judges however in close competition the auduiance can be very persuassive so please come support your favorite dancers.
