DJing at Melbourne Lindy Exchange (MLX) 2005 (Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th November)
It’s that time of year where the one of the primary entertainment for MLX 2005 needs to be organised. As always, we want to have the highest standard of DJ’ing to ensure that dancers have the best possible weekend of music.
We are inviting experienced DJ’s thinking of attending MLX 2005 to submit an expression of interest: containing the following information:
1. A DJ profile (bio), no more than 200 words, of yourself to contain the following information:
- How long have your being DJ’ing,
- The major events you have DJ’ed at.
- Your aim and goals as a swing DJ.
2. A digital face shot (mug) photograph of yourself at no less than 500x400 pixels.
3. The nights from the Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th you are not available to DJ.
4. A cover letter, expanding the information in your profile to tell us about your DJ’ing. What type of music you spin to dancers and how you approach your DJ’ing.
Please also include if you DJ using the media of Computer or Compact disc.
5. Any DJ’s that have not DJ’ed at a previous MLX will need to provide a contact name and email address of a relatively well know person within the swing DJ’ing scene as a referee.
There are limited spaces for DJs this year, but successful applicants will be guaranteed a minimum of 90 minutes of DJ’ing at a rate of $25 per hour, free entry to the event they are DJ’ing at, possibly being part of a battle of the DJ’s, as well as the privilege of DJ’ing at one of the most important social events in the Australian swing calendar. Successful DJ’s will also have their profile and photo on the MLX 2005 website to promote the weekend’s entertainment.
Interested applicants must submit all of the above by Sunday the 25th of September 2005 by email to Brian Renehan at events@mlx2005.com.
We really look forward to hearing from you.
Regards
Brian Renehan
