Seattle Lindy Exchange Aug 5 - 7

#1 Post by djstarr » Tue Apr 26, 2005 3:11 pm

Are your feet itchin' for a little Seattle dancin'? Well never fear,
the 2005 Seattle Lindy Exchange is fast approaching! Save the dates of
August 5, 6 and 7 in your calendar.

Our website and registration will be launching soon, but until they do
here are a few things you can do to get ready:

* Ask for vacation days for August 5th and 8th (you'll definitely
need a day to recover from this exchange!)
* Start looking for cheap airfares to Seattle
* Get in touch with all your favorite Seattlites to see if you can
crash at their pads (but don't worry if this will be your first
trip to Seattle, we'll have plenty of room available with hosts)

You don't want to miss this year's exchange, it is sure to be better
than ever!

We've got some great live music lined up so it will be worth your while to come to Seattle and check it out. And we promise some authentic lindy hopper food for late night.

More details coming soon!

You can't go to Seattle without seeing Bud.
Yard work sucks. I would much rather dj.

ok, back from a long absence of posting on here, but I'm still 3rd in total posts lol.

Alex - pm me with contact info. I think we should go CD shopping before the picnic Sat. George and I are dj'ing Friday 3 am to 5 am so we'd need to make it 1 or 2 (or 3).

Julius - you would enjoy this. I'm ready to buy some good CDs, my latest buys have been from BMG --- one or two good songs per track [sigh].

I've got an email into Alex to see if Saturday works for him; sounds like he will be gone on Sunday. However, Sunday would be better time wise since the picnic on Saturday is up in the north end and Westlake on Sunday is right down town near Bud's.

Anyone else from out of town on this board going to be in town? Come say hi to me on Friday, I'll be dj'ing the band breaks and also a set at late night then.

On Sunday you can take the bus down from westlake to Bud's. We did this a couple of years ago. The only thing with Bud's is that it's hit and miss. There are long periods wher he doesn't restock anything.

Easy Street Music has probably the best prices on new music. The collection is small but they carry most all the Proper sets as well as some other unknowns.

Everyday Music on Cap Hill is also good. Most the collection is used so you can get a good deal. I ususally dig through here every week or so.

i made it to bud's, which is very nice. bud himself was there on friday, and he's a fun guy to talk to.

i got a bunch of stuff at everyday music on broadway (great store!), but i didn't make it to easy street. next year.

it was nice meeting you, brenda.
