There's a video of Steve & Rebecca D. and another couple on their site. I'm hoping to find the name of the song in the video under "Summer Hummer 2001, Just Dance Lindy Hop". There are 2 dances under that heading, so the one I'm looking for is Song 1.
Here is the page:

The file in the Low Quality RM column is 1.8 meg. The file in the High Quality WMV column is 4.1 meg.

*edit oops, never mind, didn't notice it was from a comp.

Yeah I asked them a couple of weeks ago. Steven and Rebecca both responded. They didn't know the title.
I didn't see a similar song in the thread that Katie suggested either. I listened to clips of all the songs mentioned in that thread.

Katie was probably just posting that thread to let you know that there is already a thread where people post when they want to have a song identified.
To answer your question as one of the DJs for that competition (Rayned being the other): The song is "Things Ain't What They Used To Be" by Duke Ellington. I'm not exactly sure of the specific recording but it is most likely from the late-50s.
I highly recommend a very similar hard-swinging version off of Ellington's
Newport Jazz Festival (1959).

That is the right song title for the Song 1 which is one notch underneath the Summer Hummer 2001 Song 1. Thanks for the reply though. I like "Things Ain't What They Used to Be" also. I will probably be on a quest to find the version in that video soon.

Whoops. My bad. I accidentally downloaded and identified song 1 from New England Swing Dance Championships 2001 (Strictly Swing Advanced Lindy). I was not the DJ for that competition or for any competition at that event. No wonder I was having trouble placing the specific version.
To finally answer your question: song 1 from Summer Hummer 2001 (Just Dance Lindy Hop) would definitely be "Rumble" by Sy Oliver off of his album
Yes Indeed. Rayned and I did DJ this one - you can see us in the background of the video.

Yeah that's exactly the song! Thanks so much. After you said the title and artist, I couldn't find a clip available at the usual sources, so I went to samgoody.com and they had it. This is great. I'm probably gonna be a Sy Oliver fan once I hear more of his songs.

Sy Oliver was an awesome arranger. He did a lot of stuff for Lunceford and other bands. I'd be more specific but I'm actually ignorant.
