Hey all, been a while since I posted but I'd love some help ID'ing a song.

Remy & Alice are dancing to a version of Sent For You Yesterday by Count Basie that I haven't heard before. Perhaps from a Mosaic set or the Savory Collection? Can anyone confirm this? :)

Editorial comments about the practice of speeding up recordings for performances aside, it's the 1945 V-Disc recording, indeed sped up some.

NYC, 1945-05-14
Clayton, Edison, George, Killian, Lewis (tp), Donnelly, Johnson, Robinson, Wells (tb), Powell, Warren (as), Tate, Thompson (ts), Rutherford (bs, cl), CB (p), Green (g), Richardson (b), Wilson (d), Jimmy Rushing (vcl)

It sounds way better on CD than it does in that video. Some combination of having edited the track, playing it over that sound system, and, likely most to blame, an on-camera mic muffled it.

You can find it on Jazz Archives 76, "The Golden Years, Vol. 4: 1944/45 (The V-Discs)." That whole series of four or five CDs is worth getting. There's an old thread somewhere on this forum where Matthew waxes prosaic about these CDs at some length, IIRC.

You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you.

Upon an initial search it appears a hard CD or digital copy of said album is not available for purchase online at the moment. I'll have to keep my ear to the wall.

I see several on Amazon from third party sellers right now:

The cheapest is $5 + shipping. Enjoy!
