Heard this song while at a swing dance and the DJ showed me the name, but I may have mis-read the name or I forgot the exact wording. It's vaguely similar in style to a Stick McGee song (like Six To Eight).

update - Saw the DJ again, it was the Wynonie Harris version.

Perhaps "Good Rockin' Tonight" by Roy Brown? Similar name, similar era, great song!

That is probably the correct title, but it sounded more like the version done by Wynonie Harris instead of Roy Brown, and the intro was removed and/or this was a special mix version of the song or a version done by yet another person or band. I'll probably see the DJ sometime in the next month or so, and I'll ask him if this was it and which version he was playing.

Curly Bridges, perhaps? Very short intro. Great recording.

Incidentally, Jesse is the one that pointed that song out to me. :o)

That might be it. When I see the DJ again, I'll ask him which version he had. I only heard the song one time during a middle break between live band sessions, so I don't remember it that well.

Thanks for the help all.
