Duke Ellington - 100 Rare Sessions (although it might not be the exact same recording, but it's the same song)

That's not the Ellington recording, although it seems to be loosely based on it (as recorded by "Johnny Hodges and his Orchestra" in 1937). It's a nice version, though, I'd love to know who did it.

Love it--can't wait to find out who it is.

Sounds modern, and the singer sounds a little like Steven Mitchell.

Think it's a Swedish band w/ him, on an unpublished local recording?

Also, it sounds like the whole video might be one or two bands - research who played at Snowball in 2008/2009 & before? Private message lsteimo through YouTube? And be sure to share if you find out, please.

Okay, a little more research (because my gut is telling me to follow the Carling Band or Gordon Webster path)...

Google still has a snippet of text cached saying:

"December 2008 Snowball Sweden 2008.12.31 ... - Gordon Webster
http://www.gordonwebsterswings.com/CoAu ... lendar.xml
... December 28-31, 2009 Snowball Sweden House band - all week! Special guests Steven Mitchell & Malcolm Holt. http://www.thesnowball.se/ 2009.12.31 April ..."

Email Gordon?

From around 10.00 on the youtube clip there are shots of the band including Steven Mitchell and Gunhill Carling
