I had them pick and announce songs as they came up to help quell song ID questions. Apparently people with cameras didn't get the clue to include that part in clips.

The first one is also Moten: it's "Imagination".

I have both on the Hep album "Band Box Shuffle".

I'm probably wrong, but isn't that version of Lafayette from the soundtrack to Robert Altman's film Kansas City (which, incidentally, is awesome - the film has some fully sick 'live' band scenes)? Either that or another modern version...

Since the band members are mostly alive, I thought it might be fun to show that clip to everyone apparently in the band whom I could reach (all but 3). :-) It took a while, but hopefully they'll get to enjoy what they inspired.

"Sakta vi gå genom stan" from the album "Ahh! Monica" [1962] by Swedish jazz legend Monica Zetterlund, also available on many compilations, for example "Sakta vi gå genom stan - Det bästa". It's a rendition of "Walking My Baby Back Home" with Swedish lyrics.
