[Answered] Softly As In A Early Morning Sunrise, Bobby Darin

I've been haunted for a while now with a rendition of "Softly, as in a Morning Sunrise" that I heard somewhere. It was sung by a male vocalist, and performed with an orchestra IIRC. It might have been Dean Martin or Mel Tormé. Around 130-140 BPM?

The singing closes with forceful delivery and a bit of reduplication: "Softly, softly, as in an evening sunset, sunset".

Bobby Darin's version (off LP 'That's All') would fit that description.

'Beyond the Sea' off the same album seems to be popular among certain DJs...

Yep, that's it. Thank you!

BTW, the song is listed on the album as "Softly As In A Early Morning Sunrise" (despite grammar and 'early' not occurring in the vocals).
