[Answered] Mulitple Songs from Camp Jitterbug 2007

#1 Post by TomHopper » Sun Jun 10, 2007 3:43 pm

I just saw Charleston final movie clip from Camp Jitterbug '07, and I totally loved the song that was used for the final face-off (the 2nd song).

http://www.lindylibrary.com/main/camp-j ... ition.html

I think it is "When the saints go marching in," but I would specifically like to get the version that was played at the contest.

Where can I find it?

Thanks!

It's Sidney Bechet and yes, it's "When the Saints Go Marching In". I have it on the CD "Runnin' Wild"; I imagine it's on other compilations as well.

Yeah, I just found it on iTune Store and just bought it! Awesome song!

I love Sidney Bechet...

from album:The Best of Sidney Bechet

By the way, does anyone know when this was recorded? (iTune file just show when the CD was released, which is 1994, but I am sure that's not when the song was recorded!)

That track was recorded in January 1949.

I've probably mentioned it before...

Check out the 10-CD Bechet set, Portrait. So much fun music, you won't know what to do with it all.
