Yep, zzzzoom, I think you're right, it sounds a lot like "Jack Bland and His Rhythmakers / Who Stole the Lock Off the Hen House Door? (249 bpm) / 1932 (2:40)" off CD 2 of the Eddie Condon 4 CD set "Classic Sessions 1928-1949" [JSP #901, 2001], but they must have edited it, 'cause the singing starts much later in my version, and is some 20 seconds longer. (Or they just might have another recording).

By the way, when talking about the wonderful clips from ULHS 2005 (wish I had been there), what song did the Silver Shadows dance to? I think it's Frida & Skye, Todd & Naomi, and then there are two more. It somewhat reminds me of the song to which Whitey's do the Big Apple in "Keep Punchin'".

Thanks Andy. It turns out I got that stirring song when I bought the Earl Hines CD "1934-1937" [Classics #528, 1990] in London just a little more than a fortnight ago while attending the Balboa Festival there. Talk about not knowing my own music!

Yep, Huey, the very same, it has a lot of really nice tunes, amongst them the very well known and great "Cavernism".

I bought "1937-1939" [Classics #538, 1990] at the same place, with smokers "G.T. Stomp" and "Grand Terrace Shuffle", and the lovely mid/slow tempo "Ridin' and Jivin'", which will be a staple at the venues I play in Uppsala and Stockholm.

Well, 'nuff off topic jibberish from me...
