#1 Post by SpuzBal » Wed Jun 18, 2003 3:33 pm

Is anyone else a fan of the music from Cowboy Bebop?

my teenage sis. I've given it a listen and it's pretty good. Doesn't seem to be dance friendly, from what I recall.

I went to Japantown today and got Future Blues and Music for Freelance. I think that they're both great, albeit super-expensive, due to the fact that they're imports.

Man, that soundtrack is killer. I love how they incorperated classical music with modern techno/pop in some of the tracks, very cool. I'm looking forward to buying the cd.

Care to educate the rest of us on what it is?

First thing that popped into my mind was Billy Jack Wills. ;)

It's the soundtrack to the anime Cowboy Bebop. It's basically a bunch of really diverse music composed by Yoko Kanno and performed by a group called the Seatbelts. There's jazz, rock, latin, bluegrass-ish stuff, even a little Moroccan music on the movie soundtrack, heh. It's pretty cool stuff, though the soundtracks can get a bit expensive, at about $32 a piece...

Yay! I love the Cowboy Bebop music :D My boyfriend got me hooked on this stuff, it's always playing in his car. He is a jazz musician who is into anime, so it's the perfect fit for him--he recently did an arrangement of What Planet Is This? for combo instead of big band that turned out really kickass, but I can't convince him to post it on his website.

Has anyone checked out FLCL? I love the music from that as well, performed by The Pillows. It's not swing or jazz, more rock/punk/alternative sounding, but still so good. If I knew Japanese I'd be belting it out in the car....yeah...

FLCL is bizarre. Its music is kind of cool, though not really my thing. And yeah, I wish I knew Japanese too.
