Two artists not mentioned yet that might fit are Jimmy Noone and Johnny Dodd.

Easily my fave album is Louis Armstrong's "Pays WC Handy." Great CD.

"Atlanta Blues" is plain kickass.

Bix Biederbecke...

I love his transitional sound in the very late 20's.

I fixed them right away, like I do with most broken links or links that make for serious horizontal scrolling.

Ahhhhhh, the tireless work that goes on behind the scenes to keep things moving smoothly here. ;)

Best Will Ferrell SNL skit . Perhaps the only good one, actually.

Jack Teagarden from the 50s revival work. I have a Mosaic set that is fantastic, but there are many out there, so I can't say which it is until I check.

Check out Kid Ory's Creole Band. Lots of recordings from the LA area in the 40's. Really good for dancing!

Amen to that - I have this track on "Jack Teagarden - Jazz Great" recorded in 1954. It also has 'Meet me where they play the blues' which is one of my fav Jack T tracks.
