Gatorgal and Smunky introduced me to her music at ALX. Her album, Soul Call, is a mix of folk, gospel, and blues. (Yes, I picked it up THAT weekend). There are a few songs that are on the slower groovier side of things

She is from College Station, TX, so can be found performing around TX. I missed her recent show in Houston, but am hoping to be able to check her out live sometime soon or get feedback about her sets....anyone heard her full sets? Would they translate well to a dance setting, like an exchange?

She opened up for Al Green a few months ago in Austin, I remember that she sounded good.

Nothing she played made me think, "gosh, I better get that song and play it at a dance." She might have some songs that will fit in certain situations.

I guess I should look into her more.

More of a blues room than a main room artist.

Are there any albums you might recommend? Or song samples?

"runaway soul" is her best album...the only other one (that i have seen) is a live album that is interesting, but less danceable.

"Death Came a Knockin' " is another nice bluesy song
